I bought some Rotosound bass strings for my Beatle Bass (the Monel flatwound short-scales) and I LOVED them, so I picked up an acoustic set and an electric set, and I love them too. I know that they make a 12-string set, but unfortunately there's no local source to buy Rotosound strings period, and Musican's Friend doesn't carry 12-string sets, and Sweetwater doesn't carry anything other than a few bass sets. If anybody knows where I can get a set of these online, I'll name my firstborn after you.
Also- Does anybody use them or have any recommendations on them? I mean, I loved the other three sets that I played so I have no reason to believe that I wouldn't at least like them, but sometimes certain sets are dodgy even in a good brand (I used Ernie Ball Super Slinky Pinks for a long time, and one time I got a set when I bought a box of them that sounded terrible, wouldn't hold tune, but that was a one-time thing.) so if anybody has a story about using Rotosound 12-string sets, I'd like to hear it.

I use pyramid golds on my 360/12 they last a lot longer and sound better than anything else I've tried.
This guy sells them to me.......they cost less in sets of three

Alex, the issues with Egyptian string sets--especially on Rick 12s--have been well-documented and discussed here and on the Rick factory and other guitar Forums. Essentially, the old Maxima strings were nickel-alloy-wrapped, and the newer Pyramids are wrapped in a different (more chromium?) flat wire. Result is higher tension than old, and much higher than Rick 12 string sets. On a new Rick, there are few quicker ways to void your warranty than fitting it with Pyramids.
If you must have flats, try the T-I sets that Chris Clayton (Pick of the Ricks) sells. Over $30.00 a set, but your guitar and fingers will thank you.

Re: Rotosound 12-string sets? Recommended? Where to buy online?
The Rotosound sets are actually roundwound. I'm a fan of flatwound strings, I've used them on a few different guitars here and there. I'm expecting my first Ric 12-string (a 660/12) to be delivered on Monday after a near 3 year wait, and I'm not certain that flats are the way I want to go yet. And a lot of that has to do with the price of a 12-string versus how many strings I break. In a live setting, if I broke two strings and had to buy two different flatwound sets to cover that, in some situations, I've nearly negated my share of the check that comes at the end of the night. I honestly don't know what I'll do yet, but I want to try a few options before I make any semi-permanent decisions one way or another. I will definitely try a set of flatwounds someday, but I'd like to stick with more affordable options at the beginning.
Although I've heard a LOT of good things about the T-I sets from Pick Of The Ricks. They're probably going to be my sole flatwound experiment due to the cost and issues (which jingle_jangle has explained) that I've heard about.
