Tuner change question

Post by 1OUfan »

Is there a set of replacement tuners available like those on Lennon's V81 that someone would recommend----? If so, do the screw holes and bushings match without a change to the headstock :?:
Thanks---

I thought that V81 had open-backed Grover "Sta-Tite"s. The C58 has replicas that say, "Ric-Tite".

Grover Sta-Tites are still being made, and in several finishes, key styles, and two different gear ratios, too. You don't mention what you're putting them on, but even if the "old" holes are over-sized, there are adapter bushings made to allow you to make the swap.

Paul:
Thanks for your reply! I'm considering putting them on my 325V59. I'm hoping that the screw mounts for the Grover Sta-Tites match the ones from the original keys that came on the guitar so that I don't have to make new screw holes in the back of the headstock.
Thanks again--

I put Grover Sta-tites on my 325V59, and the screw holes lined up fine.
