425 and 450V63 Guitar magazine Feature

Post by godber »

I've scanned a couple of these kind of features before and thought that you might be interested in this one. It's from Guitar "The Magazine" August 2000.

Funny how these guitars came with an unwound G string from the factory, but the bridges are intoned for a WOUND G string....

I've replaced the bridge screws with shorter ones on my 425s...took about 10 minutes total for all 5 of them.

But, ah, Jeez...

Just wading through a stack of guitar magazines I've already got or eBaying what I haven't. The Jam, The Beatles, The Who, The Action and "mod" bands generally stirred my interest in Rickenbackers at a time when they were a pretty exclusive and rare item in the UK (they're not exactly common now). When the guitars were unobtainable (I was skint and they are rare), the magazines filled a gap - although not very well :( And I've carried only buying 'em.

They are only gathering dust so when I get some spare time, I post them up.

My apologies to all but the portion of Marks original post that said "links to readable pages -" has been removed because of copyright and other legal concerns. Mark is aware of this necessary change to his original post and he is onside with it.

Thanks again for your assistance Mark.
