Rick guitar tech Wisconsin area

Post by FGM »

Anyone know of a good guitar tech that is experienced working with Rick 6 and 12s in the southern Wisconsin area (Madison/Milwaukee)? Thanks!

Welcome Frank! I'm not sure that there is anybody here in Madison that I would trust to do anything serious to one of my Rickenbackers. I have nothing against their skills, but some aspects of setting up and working on Ricks tend to be a bit different from the guitars that they are usually used to working on. There are, however, two good Rickenbacker dealers within a reasonable distance:
Northcoast Music in Cudahy (near Milwaukee)
http://www.northcoastmusic.com
and Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse
http://www.davesguitar.com

If I needed a Rickenbacker tech in the area, that's where I would start looking.

Thanks for the recommendations Todd! I had thought about contacting either of these places but thought maybe there was someone in Madison or the area that I was not aware of. Ray Kentner had originally worked on my 1993 12 string and 360/WB about 20 years ago and both are still doing fine. I think maybe the 1993 may need a bit of tweaking, though - you know, winters in Wisconsin!
