Well ******I AM Trying to delete the previous Message since the AMP wasn't even working then....but CANNOT EDIT or DELETE!?*******
It's been 2 Weeks since John helped me get this late 30's Model Rick M10 Amp, UP & Running!! I am NOT playing it much(which is harder to do than I thought!) because I agree with John. Before it could be played on a consistent basis, withOUT worrying about it's "delicate" state; It needs many aspects ofthe electronics replaced, or UPgraded!
So far, the only smart thing I did was to replace the (already) replaced Power cord. In the 30's of course, there were no grounded power cords. The cord had been wearing through, which I don't need to say more..is DANGEROUS! There is now a 3 Wire -Grounded Power Cord on this unit.
John sent me a 10 page RE-BUILD book, and AGAIN! John, Thank you for ALL your Help!! There would be NOTHING DONE without you getting involved! So Thanx Again!
THIS is where I am STUCK!! & would Love some ideas! or Info!
FIRST! Does ANYONE have ANY idea, How much it's worth in this 95% ORIGINAL STATE!??
and SECOND! Is it Worth MORE--Playable, and in (very nearly) ORIGINAL Condition! Parts!, Tubes, SPEAKER!, Cabinet, ALL COMPONENTS ARE ORIGINAL (except Power Cord).?????
Or, Should I just use the GREAT INFO. John got me & Re-Build te AMP. MAKING it Consistently SAFE, PLAYABLE, AND Thus, .....NOT ORIGINAL! I am CONFUSED!!
I have enough AMPS for (ME) that if I could get a reasonabl price.....I would! I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT A REASONABLE Price IS!??? And the RARITY of this AMP( in ORIGINAL Cond. OR NOT!)
PLEASE..HELP ME!?................................MATT
