The EHX "Holy Grail" reverb pedal is pretty cool; haven't used one, but I've heard other guys use them, and they sound like the real deal: http://www.ehx.com/products/holy-grail

I use the Van Amps "Sole Mate", which is a real spring reverb pedal, though solid state rather than tube. An added bonus is that there's an extra switch button so one can run a cable from the vibrato out on the amp to the extra switch button to turn the vibrato on and off-cool, eh? Check it out: http://www.vanamps.com/solemate.htm

Say, did you end up ordering an amp cover from the link I sent you?

T-Rex Room-mate. I used this + Mesa V-twin with a line to FOH (no guitar amp) as a "save your back" experiment and it sounded great. Not quite as cool as a 60's Fender Reverb unit, but very very close, way cheaper and easier to carry! :D

I have the first one, not the plus, or the "holier" grail, and it works great. New for a hundred bucks is an added plus!

Dittos on the regular Holy Grail (although the "Plus" model is probably great too).
I tried a number of them and the HG was clearaly the best.

Thanks for the posts!I ended up getting HardWire RV-7. It's got 7 reverb sounds but it is worth buying just for the spring reverb(at 7:24 on vid below).

Sounds great!... lots more sounds options than the HG.... and about $50 more. I think you make a quality choice.

Any way you slice it... reverb is the way to go.
