VOTE NOW! What are you doing with your Rick(s)?

Post by kiramdear »

I saw this topic covered last year, but I thought it would be nice to have an update and find out what everybody is doing with their favorite instruments. You can choose as many as five answers, but if you don't see yourself in the available options please post your vote in addendum. Sharing any other information about you and your rick-related activities is welcome too. Thanks and happy voting! :D

It seems I'm the same as everyone else so far (more of less)
I play a bit
I compose a bit.
I record a bit.

Life issues have slowed me down to weekend warrior status but I hope to soon be gigging all the time. 8)

Hmmm, I hadn't considered the dietary angle. Well I guess they'd be loaded with fiber and minerals ...

My Jetglo 330 is the best I've ever eaten.

Play,compose and record.

Well, I once ate a violin and I'm still s**tting shellac!

(I didn't really, but some instruments sure smell good!)

I bet a little Zymol helps 'em go down easier.

We seem to have a majority of artist/appreciators who have discovered the joys of home recording 8)

Nice idea, Kira! :)
Weekend gigs for the most part, and a recording project in progress, which will be this band's 4th CD, and my 2nd with them.
This time I believe we have better and more radio-friendly songs and a chance for a better quality product, since the recording/producing/distributing is all on somebody else; it's in their interest to make it as good as can be.
While it's nice to have their interest, nobody has any unrealistic expectations and I doubt that there will be any scheduling conflicts for the tour.
As long as it's fun, I'll be there.

With all the enthusiasm for recording that we're seeing, I'm surprised there isn't more activity in the members' recordings section of the forum. :? though I must say it has been picking up lately :)

Put me down for the recording crowd. That's the next step up after the arrival of the Awaited One. I'd also like to do some composing as well.

I'm still converting from analog to digital recording. There are so many options available; digital audio interface, or direct CD recorder.

Years ago, I had a seasonal gig with a group from out of state. We'd go on the road for three, maybe four weeks in the summer time. It was great fun. That left me all fall, winter, and spring free to pursue other interests. Worked out great. I'd like to do that again with my Rick.

Gigging, composing, recording, and collecting as a hobby. Not really restoring and repairing, but I do have a couple in the conversion/upgrade/refinish category, obviously. :D

Well, I guess I fall into the category of "couch player" though it's mostly trying to get my fingers to remember how to play again after about 15 years of not touching a bass. In the "old days" I was playing semi-professionally in a number of different bands, gigging all the time. That's a goal I'd like to reach again, but so far, in this area I have yet to find anyone else with similar interests. Heck, it's hard to find anyone period around these parts...

I also checked Restoring since I'd like to refinish my old '76 4001, but I'm not sure I'll actually get around to it, it's a great player as it is.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
