I know Tom! We met up last year when he bought my old SWR Baby Blue II combo amp. He is the winner, as he has the most musical gear than anyone else on the planet!

The fact that that bass amp is switchable from 4 to 2 ohms is very unusual. When I needed a new smaller, more portable amp so that I wouldn't always be lugging the rack around, I had to have an amp that would go down to 2 ohms since both my Ampeg HLF410s now had 4x8 ohm neodymium speakers wired in parallel at 2ohms. The only thing out there USA made was the Ampeg PortaBass 800. I didn't NEED the 800 watts, but I needed everything else about the amp. The Carvin might have done the trick for several hundred less.

Hahahaha!! Yeah, those will be the draw - that and the switchable 2/4 ohms as Dane said.

I paid more than that for my used Eden WT, and about that for my Genz Benz NeoPak. Lighter is better.

What I find interesting is that the combos are not wired at 4 ohms. Why NOT? That would be a kick *** combo.

I might wear a getup like Rowan's at my gig tomorrow night, though I'll go for a R E D shirt to match my guitar in lieu of pink.
