40,000th Post In Others

Post by admin »

With this the 40,000th post in Others I ask, who else has a big lump of snow and ice in their backyard on this the 21st day of April 2009?

Ummm, not exactly in my neighborhood. More like shorts and t-shirts. I share some warmth with you:

That makes 40,001!

Not I. It was 21C here yesterday and it is currently 14C with a predicted high of 21C again. If it's any consolation it's supposed to snow in Calgary tomorrow. I am not kidding.

I've still got a small pile that hasn't all melted yet. We got an inch of new snow last Thursday, but it didn't last long. It's supposed to be up near 80F tomorrow, but more snow is expected Thursday & Friday, that's the Calgary storm coming our way. Of course, I'm about 200 miles north of Peter's latitude...

Sorry to hear about your lump, Peter..... would an ice pick help?

Low to mid 20s here but our first mid-autumn cold snap is expected next week. Can't complain...... we've had a very mild autumn. :D

Beautiful weather here today. Sunny, and 81. About the only lump in my backyard is me.

A prefect 80/60F day here today, with breeze, and low humidity.

April is such a great month here.

High 60s F. here today. Redbud trees Cercis canadensis ssp. retisus are blooming, dafodills are up and blooming nicely. It's really a fine time to live in the Plains states of the US.

I am extremely jealous of all of you forumites who are experiencing warm weather. Here in northern Minnesota it is still cold, and there are still patches of snow on the ground. Although I did get some sunburn on my face last week when I fell asleep in my lounge chair in the corner of my patio that was sheltered from the wind.... But yesterday morning we had two inches of fresh snow on the ground! As T.S. Eliot said, "April is the cruelest month...."

Sorry about that Melissa. It got to 16C here. Just a little off the mark of 21C that was expected. I love spring in the Okanagan. :D

Spectacular weather here about 7 miles shy of Kira's harbor berth. I took yesterday off to work on guitars and it was 90° by noon. But yesterday evening was really nice--we sat out on the deck and just breathed the great air.

LA had more consistently nice temps, but the air sucked...this is real convertible country.

I'd hit that fire with a laser if I wuz you, Peter.

Yup, another beautiful day in the North Bay. Supposed to be a little cooler than yesterday which makes it perfect to sit out in my shorts and bond some more with my new guitars. 8) It's very pleasant right on the water. But I do hope they're finished dredging the slip next to mine ... could put the kibosh on my noontime concert. :(
