ME and my Ric 1997 in GUITAR PLAYER

Post by longhouse »

Joking on the sofa, I said, "I should be in here." I opened the July 2009 issue of Guitar Player, turned a few pages, and nearly fell over. I WAS IN THERE!!! On page 22. I'm still in shock.

Michael Molenda was cool enough to choose a picture with my 1997SPC/VB visible.

Wow...

Congrats, dude. I mean it.

I know how you feel but with technical magazines. I almost fell over the first time I was mentioned in a magazine.

The July issue? Is that out already? It's only May or did I miss some time in a space warp? Congrats mate. The first time I saw my name and mugshot in the newspaper I thought I had been caught doing something. I was in fact. I was playing guitar.

Thanks Scott and Brian.
'I almost fell over' - Yes, that an apt description!

I've been in various publications thanks to a high profile fight with Toyota Motor Manufacturing -but that's a different sort of feeling. No Rickenbackers in those articles and blurbs.

Got my photograph published in Time magazine in a November 1987 issue. I saw the photographer take it out of the corner of my eye. I never expected that photo to make the publication. No Rick, however.

Thanks! GP hasn't updated their webpage yet (probably to keep people buying from the newstand).
They used this one: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... ID=6893683

They're showing off my photo at the local Seven-Eleven. Right when you come in the door, you can't miss it. OK, well it's more like a video still than a photo. Kinda hard to make me out with that mask, but that's definitely me. Yup

hahaa....so long as it's not printed on the side of all the milk cartons in 7-11, I won't worry too much!

Congrats Noel! I will have to go down to the news stand and check out G.P. this month. Very cool. :)
