Killers Bass Guitar Magazine UK

Post by seyesbass »

Mark Stoermer of The Killers appears on the front cover of Bass Guitar magazine sporting a 4003 (headstock shot).
Good man that he is he says in the interview that he is happy with his Geddy lee Jazz on stage but he was kind enough to pose with the Rick
which is good enough for us.

Here is a good image from a concert:

I'd never heard of the Killers until my fiances stepson from a prior marriage committed suicide back in late March. One of their songs was used for the slideshow during the ceremony. I'd recently heard the song again on the radio while driving to work. I'll probably check out more of their songs in the future.

The Killers had a great first album...the second was okay...the third, eh. They are good in concert though, and when I saw them there was some use of the 4003 early on with a switch to the J-bass later.

Haven't seen 'em in concert (Nobody plays anywhere near here  ), but they do have some good albums. There are a few good ones on the 3rd album, enough to make me buy it...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Its great to see another generation of bass gentlemen coming to the fore.
I particularly like the Hiwatt bass combo practice amp.
Top guy.
Lets get him on the Forum somebody!

By the way,
Guys like Mark Stoermer could be the way forward for Rickenbacker.
A trip for him around the Rickenbacker museum and factory could inspire the next generation of basses.

Forgive me but I strenuously disagree... I wish people who pose with Rics would actually make a point of playing them as their main instrument. If they're just some sideline thing that they use to look pretty it casts an ugly stereotype on the brand. Not saying that's EXACTLY the case here but I did raise an eyebrow about the "Jazz on stage, Ric for photo shoots" thing.
