The 1-2-3 of 70's Bands
Who were your 3 favorite 70's bands?
1. Blondie (what can I say? ... this is/was partially testosterone driven)
2. Fleetwood Mac (super talented all around)
3. Lynyrd Skynyrd (deserve to be on the list for 'Freebird' alone)
Who were your 3 least favorite?
1. Jethro Tull (by far)
2. AC/DC (Scream-Rock aint my cup of tea)
3. Doobie Brothers (sorry, but I simply hate Michael McDonald's voice)

Three favorites:
Renaissance
Yes
Genesis
Least favorites:
Aerosmith
The Rolling Stones
J Geils Band
As you can tell, I was not much into your typical R&R music!

Who were your 3 favorite 70's bands?
1. George Harrison
2. Derek and The Dominoes
3. Freddie King
Who were your 3 least favorite?
Occasionally... John's solo stuff can be quite horrible, and I don't really listen to much else from that era, so I guess I have to say... that

Who were your 3 favorite 70's bands?
1. Cheap Trick
2. Blondie
3. Pretenders
Who were your 3 least favorite? (That's putting it mildly; how about "I'd prefer flogging to listening to these guys"?)
1. Journey
2. REO Speedwagon
3. Styx
*I love the Jam, and the Cars, but I didn't find out about the Jam until `80, and the Cars come in at about #4.

Re: The 1-2-3 of 70's Bands
I guess it's true that one mans trash is another's treasure.
In the '70's I loved:
1. Black Sabbath
2. AC/DC
3. a tie between Rush and the Ramones (mid versus late '70's for me, as best as I remember).
Paul's dead on for the bottom 3 though, except for me in this order:
1. Styx
2. REO
3. Journey

Re: The 1-2-3 of 70's Bands
The Ramones(oh, big surprise
)
The Dictators
The Jam
Those are the three from the 70s that I still listen to on a regular basis
The 70s was such a diverse era of music that it brought new and inventive ways to suck, so I couldn't even begin to list a top three. Off the top of my head I would have to say,IMHO
1-Led Zeppelin-one of the best rhythm sections ever, but Robert Plants vocals are nails on a chalkboard to me, and Page is pretty sloppy for someone who the masses revere as a "guitar god."
2-Talking Heads-not punk, never were, never will be, just played and hung out at CBGBs when the whole thing went down. It makes me cringe at the amount of time they get in just about every punk documentary. There were so many other bands playing at that time there who rarely get mentioned, but have made their mark in the "punk" genre. I also just don't like their music(so what eh?
)
3-Disco-the first shot in the murder of live music, being finished off by Karaoke. Why hire a band when we can get a dj or watch drunks sing Barry Manilow covers?
my 2 cents, off the top of my head anyways.

Re: The 1-2-3 of 70's Bands
This is really tough there are so many good bands and quite a few stinkers. The stinkers are easy though.
Top three in no particular order are:
Queen, Pink Floyd and Faces.
Worst
ABBA
Kraftwerk
Alan Parsons Project

My favorite three? Gee, that's tough. If you ask me at this moment I'd say:
Rolling Stones
Paul and Wings
Hot Tuna
My worst? It's too hard to scrape that barrel, just too many choices ...
