Go Figure

Post by johnt »

For your enjoyment, a new track! Once again Sherry has provided some great vocals to my ramblings. Recording made using Logic, various plugins (mainly amplitube Fender on guitars).
The guitar is my 330/6 and bass is provided by my Ibanez Artcore (really need to get a ric bass I'll take donations if anyone is offering).
Anyway, little unsure on the mix here, so would welcome anyone's thoughts, vocals a liitle too high in the mix maybe?

Anyway I hope you like it.

Sounds good, John. I think the vocals are at the right level - Perhaps a little bit of effects on them? IMO, the solo could come up in the mix slightly.

IMHO lead and vocals could come up a bit. Good tune John, I like it!

I'll have to ditto Tom on the vocals. None the less, I love this music. Very cool. Great beat. Interesting vocal melody. I'm a sucker for shoegazing. :) Well Done!

Nice energy to this one. I can't say enough good things about this collaboration between you and how you both contribute. My only critique is strictly a technical one - the vocals sounded a little too compressed, and I agree that the lead definitely needs to come up in the mix.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the great feedback once again. I will have a further play with the vocals and lead part as you all suggest. Not sure why, but I seem to have a little tendency to over compress parts, I suppose compression is a delicate effect, just the right amount really lifts a part but a tad too much will kill it.

I've put together a little website for bring the tracks we have so far together. Just a simple sight done in iWeb, but it does the trick well enough.
