I was surfin Youtube today, watching Led Zeppelin related stuff and came across this. It's an interesting arrangement of "Black Dog" with too much Whammy on Jimmy's guitar and some didgeridoo in the background. Anyway, the bass player (not sure who) is playing a Ric. Enjoy!

I think that bassist is Charlie Jones, who is Robert plant's son-in-law.
That song doesn't sound right without the main riff in it!

A bluegrass version of Black Dog. That would sound interesting. Kind of like the bluegrass versions DLR did of Van Halen's Jump and Eruption. Eruption was done on a banjo. Very strange but interestingly different. Jump was hilarious to listen to, but I have to give it to that banjo player who did Eruption, as wierd as it was. He played his butt off.

I would expect anything Plant and Alison Krauss did to sound good though.

Personally I thought that was pretty cool. I always like it when an artist finds a different way to express themselves with their music. Clapton did that with Layla the acoustic version and the Eagles pulled it off with an acoustic version of Hotel California. Whilst this is not a masterpiece on the level of the two pieces mentioned at least he tried something different for a change. Alison has never looked so hip and radiant. Just a passing comment of course.

Alison Krauss looks lovely. One HOT looking woman!
I thought that version was pretty good, but totally different, bluesey and dark sounding interpretation of a Zep classic after the intro was through. I enjoyed it. But then again I enjoy anything Alison Krauss does, she's a feast for the eyes.

That's no "auxiallary riff," it's pretty much the main hook of the entire song.
