Rock Band Network... New Music Distribution Method

Ok, I haven't found this on the RRF yet and haven't looked in other forums online yet but I was reading a gaming magazine and came across the Rock Band Creators Network. (In the link, click the video at the bottom to see what it's trying to do.) Link to Rock Band Network which links to the link I posted above.

Essentially, Harmonix is giving away free tools for those wanting to put their original music into their Rock Band software. For a small fee, you can then upload your original music to the Rock Band community and start having people buy your music to play in Rock Band.

The process starts thusly:

• Create your music, mix it, master it, what-have-you
• Author your music with Magma (software) and Reaper (more software)
• Test your music on your Xbox using Rock Band 2.2 release
• Upload to Rock Band website for review
• Once review process is passed, it's automatically up for sale on Rock Band
• Profit

Obviously, this site isn't fully functional yet. It's in beta testing currently and is supposed to be finished with testing at the end of August.... /me looks at calendar.

I know Rock Band isn't really looked at in a stellar light here but I'm curious as to your thoughts.
