The Orchid Highway

Post by fireglo67 »

I've always been a bit fond of bands that play jangly powerpop, and if they play Rics even better.
I'm really into this band at the moment and they fulfill both criteria.
They are on Rainbow Quartz records, the same label that had Cotton Mather in the UK, and there are a lot of similarities between the 2 groups, which is great for me.

The only downside is that they come from Canada.

Check them out here....

Only from Canada, eh? Pity... :D

Count me in as a fan.

FYI for those who do like Orchid Highway (or even those who don't). Their first full length cd and a nice EP are available for download at:

http://amiestreet.com/

for $2.66 and $.92 respectively. Amie Street distributes artists with a market based pricing structure. Songs start out FREE and slowly rise as people buy them. I picked up both of these for free (unfortunately their new disc isn't up yet.). Lots of good artists if you search around. Also if you prepay for music the pricing is discounted further.

I got out of the habit of regularily checking out Rainbow Quartz, but I will again now. Like it, nice. Reminds me of The Shazam - especially the surfer girl lyric and riff.
