Finished my modded 340 Monty Brown

Post by RonLovesRic12strings »

The bridge and middle pickups are "hot" Toasters and the neck pickup is a disguised (Toaster cover) Hi-gain (courtesy of forumite, Ken Joseph). The personalized gold guards were done by Pickguardian. I initially replaced the factory control knobs with oven knobs, but then decided to go with the black Vintage-style knobs.

Nice job, Ron. I agree that the vintage knobs are the way to go here.

Looks great :!: Love the MB finish especially with the gold signature pick-guard and vintage style knobs.

Classy looks to give those 381s a run for their money. Great job.

How do you like it with this pickup combination?

Very nice, indeed. I'm usually not a big fan of golden guards, but on the MB it looks great! :D

Thanks for all the nice comments. The guitar sounds awesome with this pickup combination. The neck PU (disguised Hi-Gain) has a pleasing "mellow jazz" tone when used alone and imparts a pleasing balance when all 3 pickups are engaged. With the TI flatwounds, it's a complete package.

Wow. Very nice Ron. Does it sport a gold TRC too?
