Fender Blues DeLuxe

Post by shamustwin »

I have a couple of these from the mid-'90's. Next to the speaker cable out is a chicken head knob, four positions. What is this? I looked at a new re-issue today, didn't have it.
Tanks.

That's odd. I have a '94 and it doesn't have a four position knob by the speaker cable out. I'll check it tonight when I get home, just to make sure.

Nothing written (or etched) into the metal frame where it's mounted. Just clicks and points in 4 directions.

I still have the user manual, w/schematics, that came with the amp. I'll dig that out when I get home, too and check it out.

I'll bet it's different output taps on the audio transformer, and probably select 2, 4, 8, and 16 ohm outputs.

Well, I checked, my '94 Blues Deluxe. It doesn't have one. There's no mention of a four position knob in the manual either. So, I'm no help at all. Sorry.

I still think the wires from the switch probably go to the secondary side of the output transformer for impedance matching.

I haven't looked at that amp in a bit. Mebbe this weekend I'll fire it up and turn the knob!
