U2 & Muse

Post by johneek »

Went to the U2 show last night in Charlottesville....one of the top 2 shows I've ever seen. Both U2 and Muse, who opened, were on fire from the moment they hit the stage. Chris Wolstenholme used a FG 4003 and Edge used a 330/12 on "Mysterious Ways"....He also used a vintage Casino on a couple of songs, including "Breathe" which was the opener.

The stage made me feel like I'd stepped on to the set of a bad Japanese "B" Sci Fi movie....we half expected it to start walking and shooting fake lasers...

Ooh, Muse as opener... you're very fortunate! Although I couldn't really complain with Snow Patrol in Amsterdam...

I didn't even notice The Edge used any other Rickenbacker than the 330/13 MG on "Mysterious Ways" during this tour

I saw him use the 330/12 only once. While walking to the stadium, we saw a stream of motorcycles with lights flashing followed by 2 big black SUVs....they went by slowly enough to see Bono in the back seat talking on his cell phone...that was the closest I got to him all night for sure...
