fake or butchered?

Post by malisha »

Hi forumites,

I bumped into a cheap piece of a guitar on sale.

At the first sight, I cannot tell if it is butchered
and moded or a genunine fake.

Please help :D

No expert by any means, but it looks like one of the cheaper Chinese clones to me. The Japanese stuff would be very similar physically.

The genuine Rick tailpiece is worth more than the entire bit o' firewood...

That's gotta be the least convincing phoney TRC I've ever seen.

Too straight on the bottom. No downward curve.
If there isn't a 12 string Rickenbacker playing at my funeral, I'm leaving.

In my view, you made a good decision.
