In 1989 4 years after Mike Pender had left and been replaced with Spencer James the group
found themselves back in a recording studio when a German label Coconut records gave them the opportunity to make a new album. The Album was called Hungry Hearts and was a new sound for The Searchers, regretfully it was not a commercial success.
The first single released from the album was a track called Forever In Love and here is the rarely heard extended version.
SEARCHIN' FOR A NEW SOUND
Re: SEARCHIN' FOR A NEW SOUND
Certainly a departure from their 'norm', Roy. I can understand why it wasn't much of a success.... probably too 'mum and dadish' for the youngies at that time.

Re: SEARCHIN' FOR A NEW SOUND
I always liked this track, but imho Somebody told me you were crying, could and should have been a hit if not for the Searchers then probably Cliff. I understand the Baby I do written by Frank is now part of the regular show. Cheers
Re: SEARCHIN' FOR A NEW SOUND
The album was just a bit to synthesized for my ears. There are some good songs on there though.
