Taking the 4003afg to the local blues jam tonight. Wonder what they're gonna say when I whip that baby out.

Their jaws will most definitely drop I predict. 4003's are great for the blues IMO.

I've taken my 2007 4003 to blues jams before. IMO, the 4003 is great for blues. Huge bottom end with that kind of treble punch that really suits the sort of Gov't Mule type stuff, or roll the tone off a bit if they want a more traditional sound.

The first comment I got at the first blues jam I went to with my 4003 was from the long-hair 60+-year old dude playing lead guitar next to me: "What a great f***in' bass player!" That meant more to me than he knew, I'm sure. When they all got done with their solos, everyone looked at ME to take one! I think in blues that's pretty darn rare.

I say, "Who cares what they say when you 'whip it out'? It's what they say after you start playing that counts!"

Have a great time!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I got a bit of attitude when I first started showing up at blues gigs with a Ric . They shut up after they heard it though ... it has a nice old school thump with flats and the cap by-passed .

Still one gig where they prefer a Pbass though .

I've used all my Rics ( 4003-s 4003 4001 v63 c64) to play blues, and occasionally they do raise eyebrows, however, they are imho more versatile than anything other than an upright. They're all Fireglo of course, so maybe that helps !!!

I thought this thread would bring Mr Fireglo out of hiding! :)

How are you, Jim?

Here's something for you to look at.

Kevin,
Thanks for torturing me, gorgeous Fireglo.

Joey,
Work and life have been horrendously hectic, but is always nice to be here.
