Post by Soulsaman »

Hi guys!
Just a quick fyi.
A new documentary airing 11/25 on the History Channel called "The Beatles on Record". Don't miss it!

Hmm. It doesn't come up on my DVR.. I do see "The Beatles' Biggest Secrets" on BBC America.

Oh! Wait. It only jumps ahead to the 24th.

You know, every time I see some sort of Beatles documentary and hear their voices I think to myself "That could only have happened all those many years ago. And it could only happen once, and it will never be repeated again by anyone. I'm glad I was there to hear it all when the music was new."

...and not to take this thread too far off-topic, I have YET to see a Beach Boys documentary that isn't a piece of Mike Love-approved doo doo.

Just finished reading the bio of Dennis Wilson ("Dumb Angel") that IMO bookends "The Nearest Faraway Place"--two books about real stuff, not sanitized for your reading pleasure.

I hear you Jim!
As i was born in 1960, i've never "not" known The Beatles. As i approach my 50th birthday, it seems to me that they have been the soundtrack played throughout my life.
I,to, am glad i was born in the era that contained The Beatles.

I still can't find it on the History Channel, but that's OK. I've just seen the whole thing on You Tube in 7 parts (thanks Kent). Most of it has been seen before but it's still quite good. One thing I'd never seen before (it's in the "Beatles For Sale" section) are photo's of John playing his 325/12 in the studio...

I saw a little bit of this last night. Here's my take on it: If you own "The Beatles: Remastered", then it's something you would like watching, if you do have "Beatles: Remastered", then I don't see the point in watching it.
