Went very well. It was a typical NY set up...trying to get as many bands on the bill as possible, each with their own little draw. One of the bands was from out of town and considered the "headliner".
After the night was over, the promoter told me the owners of the club were impressed with us(because of the draw I'm guessing). Two of the bands actually thought we were the headliners, and offered to open for us our next show there. Promoter offered us a so called "prime spot" on a Friday night. I passed for now.
We're still at the bottom rung of rock though, and I think we need to market the band, and develop more of an online following before we play ourselves out. The thing I was most proud of was how different we were from the rest of the groups(you could have thrown all the others in the same blender), and how genuine I believe the sound was.
This whole episode with my son and the band reminds me of the infamous Godfather III line "Every time I try to get out, they keep pulling ,me back in"
