Model 1993 Re-issue pics

Post by FGM »

Well it’s been a while since I promised some new pics of my 1987 Model 1993 Re-issue and finally got around to taking them. I know a few of you have been reminding me so here they are. I hope Jake has a box of Kleenex handy!

Frank: That 1993 is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing its beauty. I would love to see it under natural light if you every get the chance to photograph it under that condition.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Nice Fireglo on that one! It's a beaut!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I'm pretty sure you don't want to sell it, but if you ever do, I want first dibs. I would instantly sell/trade my 360/12V64 for it in a heartbeat.

There's something about the 1993 that I just love, I don't know if it's it's rarity or it's oddness, but under any circumstance, I wouldn't hesitate to own one.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I intend to take some photos under natural light but being winter in wisconsin right now, that won't happen for a few months. I have to say, it's tone has really blossomed over the last 20+ years. There really is something about aged wood. Originally, I found it a bit 'hard' or 'stiff' sounding even through my old 64 AC30. Now it just has such a beautiful, magical sound - warmer and more well rounded but still open and jangley. Or maybe my ears are just more screwed up now!

BTW, I also put these and and other pics in the gallery section. Just search for 1993 in the gallery and it should come up. I forgot how ironic the serial# was: CO9158. My birth year is 1958!

Nice pics, Frank.
Curious, was it ever more "Red" in it's color or was that FireGlo always more towards the Autumn shading ?
Did the finish age over time ? I really like that coloring.
