Suggestions for Rico sound set up

Post by T.A.R. »

I got a stereo Y cable from Potr(Thanks) and was curious as to what amps people use? I currently have a Marshall Major. In the house for practice a little F*n*d*r. Would love to hear suggestions

I use a Sansamp RBI for the bridge pickup, a Sansamp RPM for the neck. These run to a Rane AC22B electronic crossover to separate the high and low from each pickup. The High channels are mixed and sent to one channel of a Carvin DCM1540L, the Lows are mixed and sent to the other channel of the Carvin amp. The High output goes to two Ampeg 2x10 cabs, the Low goes to two Ampeg 1x15 cabs. It's only 750 watts per channel, but it seems to do ok...

On a sunny, windy day you can have a little left over for one 100 watt lightbulb.

I picture an isolated farm up north with a black storm blowing in, wind turbines working hard, and before you can hear the wind from the storm start to howl you can hear CJ blasting that 4004Cjj of his from a mile away. And the livestock, they are a-groovin'.

Brought to you by my overactive imagination! I don't even know if CJ has any livestock!

Yeah, we have a some, mostly sheep and a few horses. The neighbors have a lot of cattle.
And it's always windy here, a mere 22mph today, gusting to 35...

Yup! Montana has earthquakes. Largest recorded was magnitude 7.3, Aug 17, 1959. It's nothing like California, but Montana is quite seismically active...

Or perhaps it's just me and my bass...

Rigs like cjj's get me all worked up. I'm rattling the plates downstairs with my GK at 320W w/ a GK Neo 2x12, and he could de-shoe a horse at 3 miles.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

I like it, Joshua. That actually makes a pretty cool movie scene.
