Registration before ownership

Firstly I should say that the register is an excellent resource which I fully support. However I would like to know what the situation is when owners find that their instruments are registered - often taken off auction sites - before they purchased them. Can new owners then get the instrument de-registered?

New owners of instruments already listed on the Register can email Peter at admin providing notice of the change in ownership and request that they be given control over the listing.
