My Sweeties

Post by fabandgear »

This is my wife Rachel playing my '82 4001. She was a professional bassist when we first met (I'm STILL a rank amateur!) and played a G&L L2000. During the time the G&L was back at the factory for fretwork, she used this bass with her jazz band and at her Army Reserve band (95th Infantry Band, OKC.) Both groups LOVED the Rick and wished she'd use it regularly! Of course the L2000 is her baby, so she went back to it :|

Nice picture, Forrest! Maybe some day Rachel with get the bug to play the 4001 again!
I was I could get my wife to play. She has really good potential. She took guitar lessons several years ago. One day, she was sitting on our sofa holding my '79 4001 and she was figuring out a Led Zeppelin song and the song wasn't even playing at the time. She was playing it a bit slow, but she did have it right. She doesn't want to cut her nails and she wants to be able to play like Chris Squire and Geddy Lee without having to practice. So she just doesn't play!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

That's cool the Mrs. has the same passion for bass.

When I met Janey, the Mrs, she took my place in the school orchestra.....some where around the 5th Grade!

Yeah, it is great to share the same passion! Rachel's a really good guitar player, but bass was her main instrument. I really have no right-hand technique to speak of, so she laughs at me all the time :) She said "At least you don't use a pick!"

My '82 4001MG. This is another souvenir from Hawaii. A friend of mine told me he saw this at Schofield Pawn, outside Schofield Barracks. He said I had three days to get it or it was going to be his! I had it within the hour!
