Chrome Pickup Surrounds

Post by MaplegloMatt »

Excuse me if this topic has been cover before but I couldn't find what I needed through the search. I'm thinking of changing the black trim on my '89 4003s and I'm curious about how I'd locate some chrome surrounds for both the neck and bridge pickups. (nothing fancy...no toasters or horseshoes) I'm starting there but will eventually change the tuners and tailpiece also. Has anyone ever taken black powdercoated pieces and had them chromed? I imagine that might be more expensive than replacing. Any advice welcomed.

I'm sure someone on the forum wouldn't mind trading chrome hardware for black.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

This is true. Run an ad in the wanted section maybe.

I approached this same problem by buying a similar vintage 4003 and swapping hardware/plastic:

Unfortunately though, it left me with another bass that I didn't want to sell!
