I hardly recognized my old buddy Ron Eglit (now Guitar with The Surfaris) on Bass. 'Course, I look a lot different than I did then too.
Ron introduced me to Dick in the mid-80's when he was still travelling with the "big band" Deltones and Ron was Guitarist/Music Director. Ron's own band, The Gyromatics, encouraged me to get back to my "Surf" roots. Later, in the mid-90's when I was in the Music Biz, I got to be pretty good friends with DD and worked with Willie Mosely at Vintage Guitar (unsuccessfully) to get a DD autobiography published.
In '94, Dick was 3 years younger (57) than I am today.

DD played The Fiesta Del Sol in Solana Beach yesterday. Unfortunately a previous commitment kept me away. Did anyone catch the show?
