Re: Long wait over?
Nah, you're right on, IMO, though I'd love a 360/12 C63 as well.eljayski wrote:381 12-string: perhaps the "ultimate rickenbacker"? [flame suit on]
After seeing them in person, JG or MID, though if I could one just like the flame/tiger maple example at NAMM `10 I might even find FG acceptable. JG or MID make the checkered binding stand out a lot better though.eljayski wrote:what finish you want?
Hmm don't make many of them do they: "We have recently shipped a 381/12 V69 to the following...."

Cool! Of course, as you know, pictures are obligatory once you get it...

Lo res for the casual viewer.
More pics at Flickr
Those who can log in can see full res.Note: genuine Rickenbacker factory dust is visible.
I was too excited to wipe it down before snapping. It's gorgeous and plays like a dream. The only to make it more perfect would be to orient all the screw heads.(Now to hide it under the bed for 10 years...

Thanks all.I just bought it .The Rickenbacker craftsmen deserve the credit for it.
The wandering mind came up with a little bit of a link or commonality (other tham brand) between this ,and my very first Ric, a 370-12 RM.
One fine Sunday morning while I was grub shopping, while passing the magazine stand, a guitar mag caught my eye, so I stopped to browse it.While thumbing thru it, I noticed a short article with a picture of a Ric, and read enough to put the mag in the cart.
After getting home and putting the grub away,I sat down to read the magazine, and fully read the Ric article.
It was announcing two new models ,the 381v69/12, and , the Roger McGuinn limited edition.THAT got me heart a-pumping, and within the week I had one ordered.
And now , a number of years later, I have both of them.My first and my last Ric both originated about the same time.
