Whatever he's interested in, it's not your Ric. Most likely trying to put up an Ebay scam and use your serial number as part of the scam.

It's possible he's just an exceedingly paranoid/compulsive buyer. I mean, if he's local and knows Rickenbackers, presumably he can spot a faker in person when he checks it out.

Of course, he fails one of my prime transaction rules -- don't buy from or sell to a jerk. Not worth it.
