Happy Birthday, Jim!
Re: Happy Birthday Jim K!
Thanks to every one of you. Today has been a fine day, and it isn't over yet! It was an honor to show up for work today. I'm team teaching a week long song writing workshop for some 6th through 9th graders at the local Arts Center. What a creative, imaginative crew we have. They'll sing their songs on Friday which they've been working on, and polishing up all week.
And then in the afternoons, we're doing another workshop, called Americana Music, also at the Arts Center, and for the same age group. We've taken about half a dozen roots type songs, teach the kids how to jam, maybe play some simple solos, whatever their skill level allows. In this workshop, as students we have a violist, a keyboard player, and a banjo picker. The guy I teach with is a multi-instrumentalist, and I've been playing mostly acoustic guitar.
This evening the Missus & I are going out to my favorite S.E. Asian style restaurant, Zen Zero.
