Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd

Post by einar »

Hi,
German TV hosted a glorious string of rock concerts from 1977 and about ten years on. They were broadcasted live to many European countries. Generally known as the Rockpalast concerts, taking place in the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany. During these 10 years, a lot of prominent artists visited, and some of the performances have recently been prepared for dvd release. As the one by Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd from 23rd/24th of July 1977, which was actually the very first Rockpalast event. Roger is joined by Rick Vito, Greg Thomas and Charlie Harrison, and also by Little Feat's Sam Clayton for the second half. This is a 70 min. set, concisting of Byrds as well as newer material (as American Girl and Dylan's Golden Loom). The technical quality is as good as you can expect for 30 years+ stuff. The Germans did a great job! I bought this from Amazon.de. Other artists also available include Commander Cody, Dickie Betts, Jorma Kaukonen.
