Buried Treasure at POTR

Post by stringsncords »

I did one of my favorite things today - I paid a visit to Pick of The Ricks to see my/our friend Chris. We completed our transaction, and shared some great conversation, as usual. As I was about to leave, Chris showed me a 3/4 size shipping carton that was sitting all alone in the store, and on the top of the carton, there was a rather large red label which read.....

UNOPENED

Upon further examination, here's what the carton contains....

A John Lennon signature model 325 that has never seen the light of day since it left Santa Ana in 1991....!

Still with the original tape and staples on the carton. For 19 years. UNOPENED.

OMG.

Contact Chris for more info!

I wonder what makes it worth more mint in the box than mint in the case? How do we even know it's mint in the box? Has it been inspected for possible shipping damage??? We're not talking GI Joes here!

I don't think "mint in the box" is such a good idea. The wood needs to breathe. After a few years, funky stuff could happen.

I'll bet that top 'guard (the painted-white/logo one) is really yellowed out!

Okay, I give up -- let's have a look! Open it up from the bottom!

Oh yeah, don't ever open that box! Um, wait, how do we even know anything is actually in there?

Uh... Oh WOW! Guess what I just found in an unopened box in my basement?

Maybe Chris should have a "Box - Opening" ceremony on October 9th to commemorate John's 70th birthday...!

Followed by a screening of "Nowhere Boy", which opens in the USA the day before.

Chris CT scan the box so that people will believe theres something in there. I saw this unopened box at the pen guitar show this year and chris of pick of the ricks picked it up from another dealer new old stock staples still untouched and original shipping order. I believe this is the one with John Lennens picture on the pickguard.Limited edition of 1000.
