Thanks! The sound is comparible to a Precision sound and a nice addition to the Rickenbacker sounds I have. Besides this it lookes cute I think.

Here is my ”new” 1996 V63 (along with an older brother). Stripped off all hardware to give it a good cleaning, polish & waxing, and some other work. Don’t know if we’re allowed to put up nude photos, but hope it’s ok

I suppose it's not new but it feels like it. My 1st week of 2009 MG 4003 ended up having too thick of a neck for it to respond to truss rods, something I noticed the other day. It was basically permanently locked with slight, low-to-medium Fender-esque relief--too bad most P Basses don't come stuck that way. I sent the bass to RIC and they replaced the body/neck, so basically everything wooden. It's a 2-piece 2010 style neck now and I really like how it plays, and I actually think it sounds "smoother" in the response now just by a hair. The electronics and everything else are exactly what was installed on the old bass so it's a fair comparison as far as sound, I think. The wood grain is also really interesting, not flame-y at all, almost "spalted" looking which I really like. Even though I liked the 2009 body/neck, I have to admit I like this one even better; the neck profile is a lot like my 2007, not too hot or too cold, "just right". Not even a hint of a dead spot, although the 2009 was that way too.

The headstock seems the tiniest bit more "compacted" than my other post-2006es. Not enough to actually alter the shape, but may enough to lose a bit of mass and improve sustain or that rarest of creatures, "Neckus Divus" (I have yet to encounter it in the wild).

Bert, that 3000 is the spitting image of the bass I used in my first real bass gig back in 1980 - my High School production of Jesus Christ Superstar. The bass was loaned to me for the gig as I was a guitarist at the time but had been learning all the JCS parts on another cheap loaner bass.

Great feel and sound; two weeks after the gig I got a new '80 4001 and I've never left bass since then.

I have a 3000 mas well (walnut)... they absolutely rock the casbah. I love mine..its almost becoming my main axe....and Have a 4001 as well as a 4003. These are totally underated basses in my opinion.
