Kids & The Blues

Post by wmthor »

Last night I had the pleasure of listening to 15 year old Benton Lawson sit in with some friends. I blown away by the kid's chops, especially when his dad told me that Benton only started playing only three years ago.

Here Benton sitting in with Buddy Whittington

Well that was a treat. I reckon the kid is gonna be good and he sounded like he was having heaps of fun with Buddy. That's how you learn to play the blues..........try to play with a few good players every once in a while because they will teach you that less is more.

Thanks for posting that Richard. It's good to see the young ones learning the craft. :D

It is great to see young people interested in the blues. This is the only way for it to continue on. I was encouraged as a youngster by the great Billy Flynn on both guitar and harmonica. I was only sixteen and sneaking into the clubs and Billy would let me sit in. Thanks for posting this. :D :D
