Evauation Time - What do you think?

Post by Ric N. Backer »

I'd be interested in your opinions, thoughts, and technical evaluation regarding this one.

1971 21 Fret Rickenbacker 4001 Bass - Burgundyglo

The binding on the neck isn't yellowed like it is around the body. Fretboard work?

The surround doesn't look original. It's recessed.

I'm not sure, but I think I saw this one once before on ebay - perhaps 6-9 months ago.

If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

Something fishy here...

Bass is a bit rough around the edges, but still a great buy at $2k.
Also, I don't think I've ever seen someone require you to privately ask for their personal "bidding rules" before bidding...

You know the old saying - "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is".

Why are there so many listings for the same instrument? Computer glitch?

How did you uncover this?
