Question on Glenn Frey bass
Anyone out there seen a certificate of authenticity on the Glenn Frey bass (2030GF)? It was described in the literature as "new" in 1992, but gone by late 1995. Does the certificate show the number to be made? I know the 230GF guitar was to be 1,000, but what about the bass?

Re: Question on Glenn Frey bass
I'll check my cert later and reply back. I think the GF's were supposed to be 1000 total instruments; some bass, some guitar. I've heard that only about 30 basses were made.bassduke49 wrote:Anyone out there seen a certificate of authenticity on the Glenn Frey bass (2030GF)? Here's what my cert says:
"The company hereby certifies that this model, the Glenn Frey Limited Edition serial number C5XXXX, is number 17 in a production run of 1000 instruments. The above described instrument was crafted from the finest solid hardwoods with a hand rubbed finish and was manufactured entirely at our factory in Santa Ana, California, United States of America...Blah blah blah..."

Hmm, I wonder if it was supposed to be 1000 guitars and basses, or 1000 of each?
Re: Question on Glenn Frey bass
I'm pretty sure it was meant to be 1000 total, i.e. (basses + guitars) = 1000.

Wow, you certainly see a lot more CS basses out there in comparison.

Re: Question on Glenn Frey bass
Thanks, guys. I think 1000 total between the 230 guitar and 2030 bass seems more likely. My guess is less than 100 basses were made. No way to tell how many of the 1000 were actually sold. I heard a rumble that the 230 signature was planned for another artist who turned down the offer, so they went on GF. I love GF and Eagles' music, but I'm not sure the guitar-buying public connects GF with a particular guitar (or bass).
