It Was 30 Years Ago Today...

~As it is already the 27th in the UK, I can go ahead and post this...
30 years ago today, in my first year in college, I slipped away in the afternoon, and went to look at my first Rickenbacker bass. After a two hour train ride, clutching the envelope of cash very tightly, I arrived at the sellers house full of anticipation. I didn't know much about them, except they sounded great, looked cool, and Chris Squire had one.
He opened the case, I blinked...and handed him the money before I had even touched it!
Getting DH163 out of it's case this afternoon, once again I am amazed at how thin that neck feels, and, how wonderfully resonant it sounds, both acoustically and amplified. Simply put, what a great, great bass it is.
Thanks to this wonderful forum, I have found out much more about it, and so, on this anniversary, my thanks again to all who have helped over the years and commented so kindly.
