Do I have a fake 4001C64

Post by krismiller »

Its a 2002 4001C64 supposedly.... I bought it a few weeks ago from a guy in Florida. The serial number is valid, but i just noticed that I have no access to the truss rods on the body side of the bass. Absolutely no holes are drilled out on the body side.. Did Rick ever make them like this?

Did you pull off the pickguard and have a look at the end of the neck?

You have NO access to the truss rods?? Not under the TR cover nor at the end of the neck? Did Rickenbacker ever make the C64 with TR access at the bottom of the neck? Curious.

Kris, is this the same bass with the fingerboard/neck separation issue?

I will when I get a camera... Possibly tonight

This whole Rickenbacker venture with me has been nothing but a headache... (just look at my other posts)

I've never seen a fake 4001C64, but this might be a first!

Someone would have to go to alot of trouble to come up with something like that. Well, there are all kinds. Mark

Post a bunch of pics of this bass and the group will chime in with their opinions- that's the only way to find out what's going on with it.
