MADELEINE GRACE MARTIN

Post by jingle_jangle »

It is with much sadness that I must tell my friends on the RRF of the gentle passing of Madeleine Grace Martin, born on March 4. Maddy was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which left her in need of a donor heart. She had one surgery at only 48 hours old, and was on life support awaiting a heart donor.

At approximately 10pm Madrid time this evening, her vital signs began to deteriorate, and her parents held her for the last time about two hours later. She passed away quietly at about midnight Madrid time (3:00 pm PST).

Please remember her as we will, as a lovely infant who brought joy to people on five continents during her very short life.

I'm so sorry to hear this. We all had our hopes up. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I'd say, and judging from the number and the devotion of so many people brought together by her, that she lived a full life.

I am deeply sorry to hear the news, Paul---it's just not fair, she never got a fair chance to experience life.
