Strings to 360/12C63

Post by sunshine »

I need string recommendation to 360/12C63.

I just put Pyramid Gold strings to the guitar. I have never tried them. I snap two octave strings like crisp bread while playing. They snap from the headstock. It was a surprise, because I snap strings very rarely. I think I'm never gonna use those strings again.

So, what strings you are using in your 360/12C63?

Try the RIC 12 string sets or the Curt Mangan

I have had good success with both. 9-42 sets are too light in my view. The Pyramids are very stiff and I found then hard to play.
For flats the Thomastik Infeld sets are nice strings.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Thank you for your reply. I have to look at those... but I find that it's quite difficult to find 12-string set for the Rickenbacker, here in Europe. :( If somebody can tell me webstore where I can find 12-string set for Rickenbacker, please tell me. Local stores here in Finland are not selling Rickenbacker's string set.

That sound good. Thank you! Maybe I'll try those Ric strings.

Replace the words "C63" with "V64" and that's what I'd say

You can also purchase the TI Flats here:
http://schneidermusik.de/home/
... not as a whole set but they have all strings single and you can assemble your own set for € 19,75 per set which is a reasonable price.
The Thomasik Infeld string numbers for the set : IP10 IP10; IP13 IP13; IP10 JS20; IP13 JS25; JS20 JS 35; JS25 JS44
good shop!

Another vote for TI Flats....

But I'd also get your guitar looked at (or take a look yourself for anything that might have caused the Pyramids to snap. While I prefer the TIs, Pyramids are good quality strings and shouldn't normally break like that.

I had the same string-breaking experience ten or so years ago when installing a fresh set on a Ric.
