Wildwood Guitars

Post by homer »

Hi
I am looking to buy a 360/12C63. One kind folk on the forum suggested i look at Wildwood Guitars.
They have given me a good quote. Has anyone had any experience buying a guitar from them?
I will be in the States for a few days next month and will need them to send the guitar to LA - so i need to purchase from someone who is reliable and timely.

I have read great reports on them from several forum members who have bought from Wildwood. The owner (or one of them, anyway, Steve Mesple) had a band called Wind Machine that had quite a few excellent CDs back in the '80s/'90s. Ask him about it. :)

I bought my 4004Cii from Wildwood. Completely over the phone and email. It was a great experience and I would not hesitate to deal with them again!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I have bought Ricks from Wildwood. They are a class act.

They sure have a lot of C63s in stock!

Absolutely my favorite guitar shop. Top drawer people and excellent service. You wont find anywhere better.

My boss has bought at least 10 ultra sweet guitars from them and has nothing but good things to say. They were recommended to him by the people over at Gibson when he was on a factory tour.

Something just occurred to me:

Why is it that we're allowed to spread the good word about a great dealer like Wildwood, Pick of the Ricks, or the Music Connection, but we're not allowed to warn other forum members when several of us have had bad experiences with another dealer?

But it's still perfectly fine for individuals to state that they choose not to do business with a particular dealer, right? like Chicago Music Exchange, for example, as has been stated here often by many members, including me?

CME had a change of ownership within the last year. I haven't done any business with them, but judging from their website the new owners seem to be more user-friendly.

Here's a link to the news article about the change of ownership: http://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/pag ... iness.html

Wilddwood is a great. I rank them up there with POTR, which is high praise.

I think you should be able to rely on their timely delivery of a fine RIC.

Best,

Manta
