21 fret necks PLEASE

why did Rickenbacker change all the 330-360 to 24 fret necks.... I wish they would bring the 21 fret option back

A few years ago, Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas had new '60s styled 330s and 360s with 21 fret necks and toaster pickups. They looked really sharp. It appears he's not a Ric dealer anymore (I can't find any Ric info on his site) but there's bound to be some of them out there.

I think it looks great how the 21 fret neck ends right where it joins the body but I wonder, does the 24 fret design make for a stronger neck/body joint?

Just save up and buy a 21-fretter. You will probably be happier in the long and short run, as it's bound to have other vintage features that you probably want as well.

I love the 21 fret models, but my '83 330 is a 24 and I love it as well. Killer guitar.

Yes. I've seen a whole bevy of 21 fret models that snapped right where the neck ends and the body begins. Notorious on some of the old 21 fret models. IIRC, RIC fixed this propensity with the RI 21 fret models

Ive owned both the 21 are easier for me to reach, but I do love my 87 330 24, just wonder why they though it was a good idea
