Re: how do I get this glue off my old Ric??
You coulda asked me yesterday...
Answers are free!
Next glue option is waterbased AR glue (Elmer's or Titebond). Pray it ain't epoxy!!!
To get AR glue out of the crack, you can heat it with a neck steamer or try a steam iron to carefully heat the area. You'll stand a chance of blistering the paint if you're not too careful; not sure if this matters as it does look like it'll need a refin due to the pickup hacks. The glue, if it softens with steam heat, can be picked out of the crack with a #11 Exacto knife with a nice new blade.
Binding, conversion bushings available at Stew-Mac.
You'll either have to pull the neck, shave some thickness (.090 or so) off the top and laminate a new layer of maple onto it, or fill in the hacks and re-Forstner for the toaster magnets. It's difficult to impossible to match the grain and coloring of the old maple, however, so you may have to think solid finish if you're going to do things this way.
The rest are easier bridges to cross.
