This is essentially the 9th CD in the Byrds Journals 9-CD collection. I don't think there are any vocals, just backing tracks from their first two albums, plus various takes of the song 5D. It was originally released in 1994.

You got a good price! Various tracks from this album are also available on YouTube. Just search YouTube for "The Byrds Outtakes". Even though they're mostly instrumental I think these are fascinating to listen to. The instrumental of "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" is very different from the final version - I actually prefer the earlier super-jangly version.

Ah, "Journals" - with its gold-colored metal "lunch-tray snapped onto lunch-tray" packaging... One of the most interesting and informative sets I've ever heard. If you've got the patience to listen to take after take of the same song, you can really hear each one as it gradually takes shape... Great stuff!

I bought the set roughly when it was released in 1994 - through an ad in "Goldmine", if I recall correctly. Can't recall the vendor. I suspect the set would be pretty rare/hard to come by these days...
