Masculine?
I got an email from a local guy who is selling a Rick asking why I was even interested in Rickenbackers because they are considered very 'masculine' guitars.... I've never really thought of them that way.
Thoughts?

Re: Masculine?
Huh? I didn't know guitars had gender identities...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Re: Masculine?
Interesting considering that the word guitar comes to English from the Spanish la guitarra definitely feminine.

Re: Masculine?
Sounds like he's just jealous.
There is no reason to ever be bored.
...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...
"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

Re: Masculine?
The dude sounds ridiculous. Guitars are totally feminine, right down to the shape! And if anything, I've always thought Ricks were more feminine than run of the mill brands. I've often heard the comment that "girls like Ricks for the smaller necks" (I guess they're referring to mainly vintage ones).

But seriously, that connotation has never even remotely crossed my mind. What did you even say to him to provoke that response?

Re: Masculine?
Just tell him you are deceptively butch.
My guitars have no gender or names. Their personalities depend entirely on the song I am playing.
