I agree with you, Ronbo. '73 or even earlier.

Touring, I'm not sure, but he was appearing out as early as '71. Wings was christened with the Wild Life album. Not sure when the first official tour was, but he had been testing the waters very early on.

There was a festival appearance IIRC in '71, and a couple of one-nighters (Scotland?) in '72 as Paul and Linda. I could be off here, I'm not really a Paul historian, but just I remember because I was around ...

Wasn't the Band on the Run era his first "real" tour?

The fact that the bass still has it's original gap-tooth TP, HS and surround points to the early 70s. His mullet suggests 72/3.

Of the US. He toured the UK and Europe in 72/3.

I agree with you on that, Evan. That was my first impression. That and the clothing.

This intriged me. :)

Best i could find was this

http://www.macca-central.com/macca-concerts/

Goto the Video's/Slideshows mousover link, Slideshows Wings, 72-73 :: Wings

A pic with him wearing the same gear is included in the slide show, and he's wearing Tartan Trousers :) This site dates it to 73. I wonder if he wore it at one of the two Scottish gigs that year. The shirt looks like a take on the Scottish Football teams shirt of the day(http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/en/tea ... s3922.html) and he would have been linched in England wearing that.
