Happy 28th Birthday Pirate!

This week, not sure if the exact date marks the 28th birthday (or hatchday) of my faithful and good friend of almost 28 years, Pirate, my Blue-Fronted Amazon Parrot. I have him since he was 10 weeks old.

Cool! I always wanted a parrot. We had a couple of love birds years ago, which are parrots, but it's not quite the same.

So, is 28 getting old, middle aged, what? I've heard they can live a long time...

Congrats Pirate.

On an encouraging note: Even though his estate disputes much of this story; Winston Churchill's parrot lived on far beyond the lifespan of his master. He was purportedly just as foul mouthed too. Apparently he got very irritable in his old age. No doubt he was feeling that his repertoire of cussing material had gone stale.
